Some engagement sessions feel like magic from start to finish, and Addison and Isaac’s evening in Boulder’s Flatirons was chef’s kiss perfection. From golden light to soft, moody blue hour tones, we captured it all.

Why Chautauqua Park is Perfect for Engagement Photos

If you’re dreaming of a backdrop that feels like it belongs on a movie screen, Chautauqua Park in Boulder delivers every single time. With sweeping mountain views, wildflower fields, and trails lined with tall grass, it’s one of my favorite spots for engagement sessions.

Addison and Isaac’s shoot started in the tall grass with the Flatirons glowing behind them. Their light, neutral outfits (can we take a moment for Addison’s stunning white dress?!) paired perfectly with the golden tones.

Romantic and Playful: Addison & Isaac Nailed the Vibe

These two brought the perfect mix of cozy connection and pure fun. From forehead kisses to giggles that turned into full-on belly laughs, they leaned into every prompt and made it their own.

Why We Stayed for Blue Hour

(And Why You Should Too)

This session perfectly shows why I always recommend starting at golden hour and staying a little later for blue hour.

Golden hour gave us soft, warm light that felt romantic and glowing. Perfect for Addison and Isaac’s playful, cuddly moments in the fields.

But then blue hour hit… and wow. The sun dipped below the horizon, leaving us with cooler, moodier tones. Addison and Isaac leaned into the quiet, intimate feel of this light. Their silhouettes against the mountains, their laughter softening into gentle embraces—it was cinematic.

My tip: If you’re drawn to romantic, editorial-style photos, plan to stay 20–30 minutes past sunset. Blue hour engagement photos are a vibe.

Outfit Change for Golden Hour & Blue Hour Magic

Halfway through, Addison and Isaac switched into more casual outfits—jeans and tees—and it shifted the entire mood. Their photos went from elegant and romantic to relaxed and playful. It’s one of my favorite ways to tell a full story in one session.
