Nestled in the heart of Denver, Colorado, AJ and Ikeh embarked on a heartfelt journey to immortalize their love story through a remarkable engagement session. Their tale began in a place unexpected—on the humble confines of an elevator in a California hospital. Both working at the hospital, they had seen each other in passing, until one fateful day when a simple elevator ride sparked the beginning of their love story.

Their first date unfolded over root beer floats, a sweet beginning to a love story that would span years. Rooted in their shared experiences and the unique moments that brought them together, AJ and Ikeh’s engagement session sought to weave these personal narratives into every frame.

Recently making the move to Colorado for AJ’s job, the couple found themselves immersed in the beauty of the Rocky Mountains. When discussing their vision for the engagement session, AJ expressed the desire for it to be deeply personal, reflecting the essence of their love story.

Drawing inspiration from their meet-cute and first date, we set out to capture the essence of their journey. From recreating the elevator scene that sparked their romance to reliving the joy of their first date over root beer floats, every moment was infused with nostalgia and authenticity.

As a nod to Ikeh’s Nigerian heritage, the couple also desired to incorporate elements of his culture into the session. For the second location, they donned traditional Nigerian attire, their olive green garments radiating against the pristine backdrop of the Denver courthouse.
